STEAM/STEMProgram Description
Event Details
Come and join us for an informative afternoon to learn about pollinators. Did you know that one out of every three bites of food we take is created by pollinators? Our special guest, Emma Lorusso from AVSWCD, will teach us all about the pollinators found in Maine. We'll have fun playing games to learn how pollination works, how bees communicate, and much more. Additionally, we'll construct an "Insect Hotel" – a place where native pollinators can live and take care of their offspring. Lastly, we'll take a stroll around the library yard, searching for pollinators, and discovering a suitable place to hang our newly built hotel. This program is for all ages, but space is limited, so please register early.
This program is brought to you by the Androscoggin Valley Soil & Walter Conservation District and the Auburn Public Library.
