Program Description

Event Details

The Point in Time count is a count of people in our communities who are currently homeless.  The PIT Count happens every year, in every state, and usually sometime in the last week of January.  Anyone that currently meets HUD's definition of homeless, gets counted and included in the PIT.

Volunteers go to different areas and ask to interview anyone who is currently homeless, filling out a survey for each person they count.  Information from PIT Counts is used to create different services and programs that can help the homeless.

Auburn Public Library will be participating in 2024's PIT count by being a survey site.
