The History of Mystery with Peggy Vollock (Senior College in the Community)

We will examine the mystery genre and look at the history of its development with particular emphasis on the role of female detectives and authors.

After graduating from University of Maine, Peggy Vollock worked in a clinical laboratory and taught life sciences at the high school and community college level.  After retirement, she began working at the Lewiston Public Library.  Nancy Drew was Peggy's childhood literary inspiration.

This program will take place in person, in the Androscoggin Community Room.  No registration is required.

This presentation, part of a spring series entitled Senior College in the Community, is made possible by a partnership with Senior College at USM Lewiston-Auburn College.  Lewiston-Auburn Senior College has a long-standing relationship with community partners.  In addition to this program, Senior College offers in person, Zoom, and hybrid enrichment classes.  For more information about Senior College, visit usm.maine.edu/seniorcollege.
