Event Details

The Auburn Public Library, in partnership with the Auburn PAL Center, has been selected to take part in the Great Stories Club, a nationwide reading and discussion program for teens.  The theme, "Finding Your Voice: Speaking Truth to Power," features titles selected to inspire young people to consider "big questions" about the world around them and their place in it.

During the fall and early winter, a small group of teens will be reading and meeting bi-weekly to discuss four books:  "Piecing Me Together" by Renee Watson, "I Am Alfonso Jones" by Tony Medina, "The Poet X" by Elizabeth Acevedo, and "Anger is a Gift" by Mark Oshiro.  Through this grant, books will be provided by the library and are for participants to keep.

This program is made possible by a grant from the American Library Association (ALA) with support from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH).

For more information about the Great Stories Club, please contact Donna at the Auburn Public Library or Shawn or Kayla at the Auburn PAL Center.

Our informational meeting will take place on September 21 at 2:30 p.m. at the Auburn Public Library Teen Space (2nd floor).
