The Great American Smokeout is November 16!
What is the Great American Smokeout? From the American Cancer Society, "Quitting smoking isn’t easy. It takes time. And a plan. You don’t have to stop smoking in one day. Start with day one. Let the Great American Smokeout event on the third Thursday in November be your day to start your journey toward a smoke-free life. You’ll be joining thousands of people who smoke across the country in taking an important step toward a healthier life and reducing your cancer risk."
To help you plan for this year's Great American Smokeout, APL has partnered with Healthy Androscoggin to bring you the information and resources you need. Whether you are trying to quit using tobacco products or want to help someone you care about quit, plan to stop by and meet Vicky Wiegman, one of Healthy Androscoggin's Certified Tobacco Prevention Specialists. She will be at the library on Thursday, November 9, from 2 to 5 p.m. No appointment is necessary; just stop by her table on the first floor!
