Program Description

Event Details

Although many of us consume flowers without recognizing it (think artichokes, herbal teas, and broccoli), flowers have been used in food preparation throughout history. We will learn the dos and don’ts of using flowers to keep our family and friends safe and explore a dozen familiar garden flowers and how to use them in our meals. Recipes and tips will be shared. This will be an opportunity to plan next year’s garden with a focus on edible flowers.

Jeri Maurer has been an avid gardener for over 50 years and can often be found on her knees taking care of her gardens in Leeds.

This program will take place in person in the Androscoggin Community Room or via Zoom.  If planning to attend via Zoom, please register below.  The Zoom link will be emailed on the day of the program, August 13.

This program is part of our summer reading initiative, Adventure Begins at Your Library, where adults at APL will focus on Adventures in Nature.
